Los Angeles Criminal Attorney

December 30th, 2007 | Category: Law
When you or a loved one is in trouble with the law in the City of Los Angeles, who are you going to call? Its important to hire someone with the requisite experience to help you with your ordeal. How do you go about finding a qualified criminal attorney? One very good way is referrals. If a trusted family member or friend knows of a good criminal lawyer, listen to them and get the phone number and interview that person. You should also find out what they know about this lawyer. If they personally have had a good experience and good result with that lawyer, then that recommendation from your friend or family member is something to consider. Another good and reliable method is the internet. Many websites contain a lot of information about lawyers and their backgrounds and qualifications. I came across a Los Angeles Criminal Attorney's website that appears very qualified in this regard. Don't be afraid to ask them about their qualifications. Also find out about their policy on returning phone calls. Some lawyers are good about returning phone calls, while others are not. You should also find out what to expect during the criminal process in court. Some law firms advertise in the yellow pages. I would not go that route unless you have no other means. You really can't learn to much about a business by looking at some phone book ad. Fees depend on the qualifications and experience of the lawyer. Usually the more experienced seasoned lawyers will charge much more than some inexperienced attorney. The fee will also depend on the complexity of the case. Typically, someone accused of felony charges and facing a lot of prison time should expect to pay more than someone charged with misdemeanor counts. Fees in the criminal defense industry are generally flat fee nonrefundable contracts meaning the fee is earned upon receipt of the retainer as opposed to an hourly rate which is generally how civil lawyers bill their clients. The flat fee retainers generally help keeps fees down and more affordable because if a lawyer did more hours than expected, you still don't pay more than what your flat fee retainer says. One thing about fees is that you get what you pay for. So don't go for the cheapest lawyer. Go for the best lawyer. How to you go about choosing the lawyer? Well, I don't think its a good idea to hire a law firm that says they have 30 offices. You don't want to see the partner advertised but then get handed to some young associate. You need to find out who is going to handle your case if you do hire that particular law firm. It's a good idea to find out if they have any testimonials. How satisfied are their past clients? Finally, you need to find out about their track record. Find out if they can point to any specific cases in which they were successful. Comments are off for this post

Wordpress and Blogging - Variations on a Theme

December 30th, 2007 | Category: Internet
The first thing you may notice about MamboJoe...the blog that is, is that is is not a Wordpress themes blog.Thats because when I set this up as my first blog, free wordpress themes  and such things were not known to me.

I was a rookie, I had heard about the use of blogs as a good method of marketing for your main website so I thought I better have one!

I kept my domains with godaddy and when I saw you could set up a blog for cheap money I grabbed it and away I went blogging about the vitues of my site and all I was doing.

It was later down the line when I realised that the wordpress templates you could download for free were a much better source of blooging script and since then blogs that I have set up for various businesses have always used free wordpress themes as their base.

The wordpress blog has load of inbuilt functions and the free templates that you can download for free mean that you pretty much have an unlimited supply of themes to choose from.

So, if your a novice looking to set up your first blog and dont know where to go to get started....click a link and away you go...

Georgia on My Mind - Atlanta Refinance for Home loans….Not the Song!

December 29th, 2007 | Category: Property & Real Estate
Lets make that two things on my mind....The Righteous Brothers and a Georgia Mortgage
The mortgage payment is on most peoples minds these days. What with the sub-prime crisis and effects of those variable rate mortgages cutting into everyones income its not surprising that refinance is at the top of a lot of peoples christmas list. Georgia refinancespecialist Georgiarate.com have some good ideas on the subject. They specialise in Atlanta Home loans so if you are in the need to refinance to get out of an upcoming rate hike you should see what they have to offer.
I am a little surprised at the trouble that variable rates have caused. most of it though has not stemmed from the rate being variable but from the fact that mortgage lenders lent too much money at subsidized rates just so they could lend.
In the UK, variable rates have been around for as long as I have...thats a long time! If the lenders had been a little more realistic in the income multiple that they lent against and a little more forthcoming about the actual costs when the real rates kicked in...things would have worked out a lot better.

Web Hosting - Find Reviews & Cheap Hosting

December 29th, 2007 | Category: Retail
If you work in this industry...the internet industry then you will be well aware that web hosting can be a troublesome experience at the best of times. firstly there is so much on offer from so many different providers that for a novice looking for quality....and by that I mean service, but mainly that your websites are visible all of the time..

Clicking on to your website and having nothing appear can be the worst feeling so when you are choosing hosting, cheap web hosting should not always be your primary goal.

What most of us are essentially looking for is cheap but reliable. So how do you find the most up-to date-web hosting with the most reliable service at the cheapest price?
Start by checking some web hosting reviews and also ask around. Go onto forums and post a thread. Like most things in life good hosting will not fall into your lap. You need to do a little homework to make sure you have as much information about as many web hosts as you can find.

Only then will you ensure that you get what you pay for.

Flipping Houses - Understandable Sentiment Considering!

December 29th, 2007 | Category: US Real Estate
It really depends how long you've been around to know whether you can sit at your desk as a Real Estate Agent and kick the trash can muttering flipping houses or, if you have been around a while, you have seen the downs in a bear property market and know you just have to dig a little deeper to make the sale.
Of course a flipping houses blog isn't a blog with sentiment, but a resource about that well known investment strategy of turning an investment over for a profit.

In this bear market it is always good to get tips on flipping houses . If fact, the more the better. Get all sides of the arguement before deciding the best way of investing in Real Estate. Bear Markets have their pitfalls but they also have their upsides. With a  falling market you will nearly always find a higher rate of foreclosure and real estate auctions are plenty.
Real Estate Investing seminars are also a good source of information. Most important though is to take a no rush perspective when investing. Do your homework and research all sides before committing.

Spanish Property News - Social networks…It works for Some

December 29th, 2007 | Category: Spanish Property

Social networking is all about bringing people together….Facebook, Myspace etc have all been valued recently with huge sums being bantered about in the multi-millions. Just like the purchase of YouTube what is the valuation of these companies based on. With You tube it was fairly obvious. 100 millions viewers everyday is a pretty large audience for an advertising company to own….and whatever you think, thats all Google really is….an advertising company. They protect their market share with a ruthless disregard for competition even slapping the hands that feed them…..the website owners, if they dare try to share in a mythical value,(Pagerank) that Google in its wisdom has bestowed on them. What is value anyway if it does not act as a medium of exchange…no real value at all. Its like getting stranded on a desert island. All of a sudden a man from Google rows buy and chucks a gold bar onto the beach…..Your rich. There is a snag though. Yea the obvious one…and a month or so later you starve to death. Ah…but you died a rich man….said the Googleman at your funeral when they finally found your body and buried you.

I digress. I was making a point about social networking and their value to businesses that are not multi-mi..billion dollar advertising companies. Well if you cant beat them…so the saying goes….then create your own…..market that is.

One site that is attempting something new in Business & Social networking is amlaspain.com, The Spanish Property MLS

They recently announced the launch of a community forum to attempt to bring local community services together with the future potential residents looking to buy property in Spain. Launch hot on the heels of a video site, a spanish language version and soon to be launched villa rental site, AMLA seem to be attempting to create a network of sites similar to a social network within the framework of a business driven entity…the Property MLS.

Cats and Dogs and Urn - ing A Living

December 29th, 2007 | Category: Retail
Well, we have taken care of our nearest and dearest and now its time to make the arrangements for Fido and  Scratch.
If you dont have animals you probably wouldn't have thought that cremation urns for animals actually existed....but where there's a will....do animals make wills....who knows.
Anyway, back to who killed Bambi and what are we going to do with the ashes! As the humorist once said...whats a Cat Urns....bout $200 a day for commercials.
If your furry friend was really good to you there are always  marble urns to carve your devotion forever in stone.

Once again, like me and the ashtray....my faithfull friend ended up in a box...a nice box....makes a great doorstop and when asked we always say that old Dudley is still sleeping at the end of the bed......literally

Whats Going On at the Crematorium

December 28th, 2007 | Category: Retail
Dying isn't the best subject...especially at this time of year. But unfortunately its as much a part of life as anything you can think of. Cremation Urns aren't the topic of amusing anecdotes although there's always the one about the actor who appeared in a movie after he had died...In the ashtray, the fireplace...etc...etc..

Dying is still a business and you can buy all sorts of things to adorn the remains of a loved one. There's Cremation Jewellery, all sorts of different urns including metal urns. You'd be surprised...and a little disturbed. but hey...we all gotta go sometime...Me, I'll opt for the ashtray in a scene of 'Gone with the wind'.

Going Rental - AMLA Explodes Into New Markets

The AMLA Group who controls the Spanish Property MLS seems to be exploding! In the last few weeks the company has launched a Video site, a Spanish language version of its MLS - AMLA Casas, a Spanish Forum and now…if that wasn’t enough it is set to launch a site for holiday and villa rentals in Spain. The No.1 ranked site for Spanish Property seems to be going all out to corner the property market in Spain. Its use of a forum to bring the Ex-Pat community businesses together with the future residents will create the first social networking site in the Property Industry…An interesting concept combining the most popular type of searched site in the UK with property sales and rentals…..could be an interesting result…..lets watch and see! Collectables for Sale - Yesterdays items…Todays Collectables

December 27th, 2007 | Category: Shopping
Christmas is over and the Sales are upon us....the crush, the queues....what a way to spend the holidays! But maybe some of those shoppers have a long term plan. Maybe they arn't looking for the quick bargain and are really hunting out the last of those items that in a few years time will become the next hot collectables for sale

You would sometimes be suprised at what becomes a collectors item. We all know about the big things...classic cars etc, but anything can become collectable if it has a mass apppeal and a limited supply. Movie franchises have a very good understanding of this and use it in their marketing. Swatch watches sold millions of limited editions sets of watches that were never worn or even taken out of their boxes because of their collectable value. A collecters blog is not a blog that has unique value...but a blog about collectables. Here you may find some other interesting articles about what may or may not be of collectable value...You never know what you might have in your attic!
